A Heartfelt Tribute: Thank You, Capital Hotel School!

In the spirit of Ubuntu, the Capital Hotel School (CHS) turned a beautiful Saturday into a powerhouse of compassion and community. On October 25th, CHS opened its doors and its heart to Cancervive, hosting an extraordinary day to honor our mission and celebrate the journey of our survivors.

More Than Just a Meal: An Experience of Excellence

The atmosphere CHS created was electric. Watching women from all walks of life unite under your roof was a testament to the power of hospitality. Having spent seven unforgettable days on the road spreading awareness through Northern KwaZulu-Natal, being hosted by CHS was a beautiful moment of reflection and celebration.

We are still talking about the incredible highlights of the day:

  • The Culinary Artistry: An exquisite 4-course lunch that was as beautiful as it was delicious.

  • The Generosity: Goodie bags that brought smiles to every face and raffle draws that kept the energy soaring.

  • The Impact: A spirited auction and moving performances, including the soulful voice of Ilse Mazzone.

Beyond the luxury, there was substance. CHS provided the perfect platform for our survivors to share their raw, honest stories, reminding everyone in attendance why early detection is vital and why no one should ever face cancer alone.

Hospitality with a Soul

What struck us most was seeing the CHS students in action. It is clear that education at Capital Hotel School goes far beyond the kitchen and the classroom. These future industry leaders demonstrated that true hospitality is about seeing people. By organizing this event to honor our work, the students and staff became a vital part of the Cancervive family. They showed us that Sawubona (I see you) is not just a greeting, but a commitment to standing together.

Our Deepest Gratitude

To the management, the incredible students, the sponsors, and every partner who contributed to this day: Thank you. The funds raised will directly support our outreach and education efforts, but the “ripple effect” of your kindness goes much further. You’ve helped us spark conversations that save lives. You didn’t just make a difference; you were the difference.
