Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2025 – They Arrive with Style and Swagger
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) is an annual global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. Held in 108 countries around the world, the event brings together motorcycle enthusiasts who ride in style for a meaningful cause.
This year, the Johannesburg edition of the DGR took place at the Mall of Africa, attracting nearly 500 motorcyclists from across Gauteng. The event fostered a strong sense of community and shared purpose among participants. Our reliable Road Captain, Thami Tshabalala—himself a cancer survivor—proudly represented Cancervive.
The keynote address was delivered by Arnold Olivier, Treasurer and Board Member of Cancervive, as well as a prostate cancer survivor. Arnold shared his personal experience with the disease, emphasising how early detection played a crucial role in his treatment and recovery. His message underscored the importance of regular check-ups and raising awareness, particularly among men who may be reluctant to seek medical advice.
The event was a powerful reminder of how collective action—driven by passion and purpose—can inspire meaningful change in public health.
