CANCERVIVE LEADS EDUSESSION AT CORNWALL HILL COLLEGE IN PRETORIA IN LEAD-UP TO WORLD CANCER DAY
In the lead-up to World Cancer Day, observed globally on February 4th, Cancervive was honoured to be invited by Cornwall Hill College to conduct an EduSession focused on cancer awareness and education. The session aimed to inform and engage students about the importance of early detection and the role of education in the fight against cancer.
During the session, the students were asked if they or someone they knew had been personally affected by cancer. To our dismay, the majority of the hands in the room were raised, reflecting the widespread impact cancer has on individuals and families. This response was a poignant reminder of how deeply cancer has touched so many lives, not only in South Africa but across the globe.
The turnout underscored the critical role Cancervive plays in cancer education and awareness throughout South Africa. It also highlighted the ongoing need for accessible, accurate information on prevention and early detection. The powerful response from the students reinforced Cancervive’s mission: Early Detection CAN Save Lives. By educating young people and empowering them with knowledge, we can foster a generation that is better equipped to identify warning signs, seek help sooner, and ultimately improve cancer outcomes.
Cancervive’s EduSession at Cornwall Hill College was a significant opportunity to share our message with the next generation, ensuring that cancer awareness continues to grow, not just in schools, but within families, communities, and beyond.
