Sometimes, during an outreach or EduSession at a school, you know you’ve truly made a difference. You see it in the learners’ eyes — they listened, they asked questions, they engaged. Most importantly, you know they will return to their homes and communities, and someone, somewhere, will be diagnosed early because of the words spoken by Cancervive today at Hoërskool Tuine.
What an incredible outreach! More than 700 young ladies actively took part in our EduSession.
As the motorbikes roared into the school grounds, Cancervive’s bikers were met with wild cheers. But once the engines fell silent and the session began, the true impact of what Cancervive stands for could be felt across the school.
A key highlight of the day was Thuto, Cancervive’s WhatsApp Cancer Chatbot, which the learners eagerly interacted with. We were deeply honoured to be part of such a vibrant, open-hearted community — a place where young minds are open to learning, questioning, and carrying the message forward.
We are proud to share that Hoërskool Tuine has signed the Thuto Pledge, committing to keep cancer awareness and education alive on a daily basis, even after Cancervive has left the school grounds.
One more powerful step towards a cancer-conscious South Africa.
