Rhythms for Bobo at Sweet Mavati in Soweto

When we say Cancervive educates anywhere and everywhere, delivering potentially life-saving information, we truly mean it.

Recently, Bobo Nkosi, together with Nkensani Kubayi, organised the extraordinary event Rhythms for Bobo at Sweet Mavati in Soweto. This fundraiser was dedicated to helping Bobo join us on the Cancervive Flagship Ride in October 2025. During this annual ride, Cancervive undertakes an intensive programme of education and awareness, reaching communities far and wide with the vital message that Early Detection CAN Save Lives!

Since its founding 14 years ago, this remarkable NPO has already reached over 612,319 South Africans, travelling more than 31,000 kilometres and visiting all nine provinces. Our mission is clear: to make every South African cancer-conscious and empowered with knowledge that can change—and save—lives.

The event at Sweet Mavati was a moving testament to the spirit of Ubuntu. It brought together a caring and resilient community united in solidarity and love, lifting Bobo up so he can share in the Cancervive journey. Every artist who performed that night—including the brilliant Malcolm Jiyane and the powerful Abafazi Bengoma—donated their time and talent freely, embodying the very essence of generosity and community.

It was a true privilege for every Cancerviver present to witness such incredible local talent and to feel the warmth and energy that filled the space. We often describe ourselves as vibrantly courageous, for we face some of life’s greatest challenges with determination and spirit. That evening was the perfect reflection of that spirit: Vibrantly Courageous South Africans coming together to celebrate life, to support one another, and to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.

Together, through moments like these, we prove that hope, education, and compassion can travel anywhere—and that they have the power to transform lives.
