International Female Ride Day (IFRD) is an annual event celebrated on the first Saturday of May, dedicated to female motorcyclists around the world. The event was established by Vicki Gray, a motorcycling enthusiast from Canada, in 2007. Its aim is to promote and celebrate women’s involvement in motorcycling, encourage female ridership, and raise awareness about women in the motorcycle community.
On 4 May female riders from Gauteng gathered for the International Female Ride Day (IFRD) event in Pretoria. Various meeting points facilitated group rides, culminating at Zwartkops Raceway. Women from diverse backgrounds and communities united, collectively celebrating their love for riding.
A number of our Cancervive Ladies Riders joined the event. Additionally, they managed a stall selling Cancervive-branded merchandise, with all proceeds going towards cancer education and awareness initiatives.
The IFRD 2024 event at Zwartkops was a phenomenal success, featuring an impressive showcase of products and services from all major brands. Attendees enjoyed themselves, indulging in scrumptious food and enjoying good music. The excitement built up to an unforgettable lucky draw, offering incredible prizes that left everyone in awe.
Unfortunately, the Cape Town leg of the IFRD had to be cancelled due to bad weather.
