Cancervive is a South African Nonprofit Organisation (NPO) committed to creating impactful cancer awareness and educating communities about cancer as a disease. We focus on rural and underserved areas of South Africa, where information about cancer is not readily available or accessible. The organisation has a survivor-driven approach, aimed at dispelling myths, breaking social stigmas and providing information. We encourage early cancer detection and prevention, and maximising available support resources.
Through dynamic campaigns and compelling survivor stories, we aim to celebrate life, inspire hope, and empower communities to pro-actively engage in the fight against cancer.

The journey began with a dynamic group of breast cancer survivors – driven by the inspiration to spread hope. They embarked on countrywide motorcycle journeys, symbolising their celebration of life to spread a message of hope. From this spirited initiative, the dire need for cancer awareness and education became glaringly apparent, especially in the rural communities of South Africa.
Arising from this pressing need for cancer awareness, Cancervive was born in 2011. As Cancervive became an independent NPO in March 2022, the organisation has remained unwavering in its commitment to advancing cancer awareness and education, leaving a positive impact on communities across South Africa. Today, Cancervive continues to carry the torch, actively contributing to the well-being of our communities and ensuring that vital information reaches even the most outlying and underserved areas.
