Rayghanah Cassiem, an inspiring Cancervive survivor deeply involved in cancer education and awareness within the Cape Town community, organised an event on 7 August at the Old Mutual Auditorium in Pinelands. The event, titled “Why a Mammogram?”, featured Meagan Davids, a Mammographer, as the main speaker.
We extend our gratitude to Lizka Potgieter from Morton & Partners for sponsoring the mammogram voucher.
We received fantastic feedback from some of the attendees:
“Mammograms. Morning well spent. Rayghanah Cassiem, thank you for organising, and a very special thanks to guest speaker Meagan! Thank you for inviting such an engaging, talented speaker. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. The Survivors agreed, and we wish we had known so much before being diagnosed.” — Angela da Grass
“Vandag was baie besonders. Al het jy die pad van ‘n mammogram geloop, kry jy altyd iets by wat niemand jou vertel het nie.” — Christine Louw
“Brilliant!” — Vesolia Mullins
“Blessed, very informative, inspiring morning well spent @ Old Mutual, Cancervive Mammogram talk. It is the little things in life that are priceless.” — Marcelle Frans
“Hi Ray hope you are well. I am Vee from today’s Mammo session. I just wanted to extend my gratitude for the very informative talk on the mammo awareness. I just had my mastectomy done. I am 2 weeks post surgery and healing”. – Visa Rahim
Thank you to everyone who attended and especially to Meagan for sharing her valuable knowledge.
